This is a website to showcase my photography
and to introduce
Hatteras Island, North Carolina, one of the most beautiful and unique
locations in the country. Hatteras Island is one of the islands that run
along the coast of North Carolina known as the Outer Banks, which is
what OBX® stands for, and is the home of the famous Cape Hatteras
Lighthouse, the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States.
Hatteras Island is located
in the County of Dare. Dare County has installed
WebCams on Hatteras Island Highway 12 to monitor the weather and road
conditions at two spots that are endangered by ocean overwash during bad
weather.
One is at what is known as the "S-Curves" just north of Rodanthe
and the other is at the entrance to Hatteras Village. The resolution of these
cameras isn't very good but you can get an idea of the weather conditions.

I have started a Hatteras Island
news page that I update periodically about some
of the happenings and events concerning Hatteras Island. This is not as much
a
newspage as a simple narrative and personal rambling about things that I find
interesting and/or controversial around the island.
